This research is important in a time of continually increasing opiate overdose deaths and limited public mental health and substance use disorder treatment resources. You can be part of a positive change and help us better understand how to teach clinical and decision-making skills to new social workers.

Please complete 2 short questionnaires, help us understand how to better teach social work students, and qualify for 6.75 free CEs approved by NYSED for NY Swers, LMHCs, and LMFTs. Also approved by NYS OASAS for CASACs.

Who can participate?

Social Workers, LMHCs, LMFTs from New York State. CASACs from New York State

What is the study about?

The study asks what influences Clinician’s ethical decision-making, and how clinicians think we can offer more culturally competent treatment to minorities such as Latinx.

What do I get in return?

Participants get 4.75 CEs which are NYSED-approved and OASAS-approved for New York State clinicians.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. Participation in the study and course is free.

Who are we?

Connections Counseling Psychotherapy LCSW PLLC, a New York based counseling organization, has taken over the administration of courses and studies previously carried out by Best Practice Trainers, Inc.

When and how long?

After signing up, you will immediately have access to the pre-training questionnaire. You can complete it at any time in 2023-2025.  Filling out a pre-training questionnaire for either of the two projects takes approximately 10-12 minutes.

Recruitment of clinicians from New York State is underway in 2023-2025 for the Ethical Dilemmas, the Health Equity, and the Harm Reduction Attitudes studies, sponsored by Connections Counseling Psychotherapy LCSW PLLC.

All three studies have been reviewed and approved by the North Start Research Board. The research is self-funded by Connections Counseling PLLC and the findings will be published on this site. You can call Ruth Campbell, LCSW, Ph.D. to find out more at 845-255-5022. She is one of the PIs on the research.
